In December of 2014, for the second year in a row, I went down to Antarctica as a photographer for conservation group Sea Shepherd on their latest campaign dubbed, 'Operation Icefish'. Operation Icefish' set out to confront six illegal toothfish operations in Antarctica. By the end of the campaign in April of 2015 we had found 4 of these outlawed vessels, confiscated 72 km of illegal gill-net from the bottom of the southern ocean of Antarctica, chased the most notorious ship 'Thunder' for 115 days until they scuttled their own vessel. We rescued the crew and brought them to the nearest country off the coast of western Africa where the officers and captain were held for months and were convicted of multiple accounts of polluting, negligence, and illegal fishing and were sentenced to 3 years in prison and a 15 million Euro fine.
