In the fall of 2015, myself and photojournalist Sam Edmonds met up with Wildlife Defence League while they were on their way up to to the Madii Lii blockade located in Gitxsan territory up in northern British Columbia. WDL spent the following weeks helping the folks at the blockade get the camp ready for the long and cold winter that was soon to come. The Madii Lii blockade was set up in 2014 to block out TransCanada and to stop the corporations plans of putting a pipeline through Madii Lii territory.  Madii Lii isn't just a blockade, it represents Gitxsan culture and their sincerity on preserving their culture by any means necessary.
